The closing date for nominations for this year’s Observer Community Awards is Thursday, October 27 - meaning there’s just two weeks left to get entries in! We are still accepting nominations for each of the categories: Best volunteer Best community person Mini marvel Best school School star Best coach Sports team or sports person of the year Hero to animals Special recognition Best local voluntary/charity group Outstanding bravery Best community event Contribution to arts in the community Community content deputy editor Kelly Brown said: “It’s come around quickly, but we are all thoroughly looking forward to our special awards night at Bognor Butlin’s on December 12, again hosted by the brilliant Fred Dinenage, where all the winners will be announced. “It will be down to you, the readers, to cast your vote, but before then we are still looking for entries in every category. “So if you know a person or group that really deserves to be recognised, don’t delay, get your nominations off now.” You can email nominations to stephen.pickthall@jpress.co.uk - please include a brief description on why you are putting them forward, along with contact details for the nominee and yourself.
